Furniture Project (Stranraer) Ltd Shortlisted in Prestigious Great British Business Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Furniture Project (Stranraer) Limited on being shortlisted from 1,618 nominations in the Great British Business Awards; notes that these awards recognise businesses, charities and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution across the UK; understands that the company, which runs the Community Reuse Shop and is based at Blackparks Industrial Estate in Stranraer, has been shortlisted in the Outstanding Contribution to the Community category; acknowledges that nominees in this category can be either individual, companies, non-profit organisations, social enterprises, community projects/trust or community interest companies that have made, and continue to make, an excellent contribution to their community; looks forward to hearing how the company fares when the winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Hilton in Reading on 21 April 2023, and wishes Paul Smith, the chief executive, and his team every success on the night as this multi-award-winning social enterprise continues to grow from strength to strength, while, it considers, alleviating poverty throughout Wigtownshire by providing affordable homeware for families in receipt of low incomes.
