Scottish Boxer Proves a Knockout in First Professional Bout

The motion

That the Parliament warmly congratulates Scottish boxer, Tyler Jolly, on winning his first professional fight in Dublin, Ireland, on 1 April 2023, when he knocked out his opponent, Dayle Arrowsmith, after just 22 seconds, much to the delight, it understands, of a large Galloway boxing contingent; recognises that the athlete, from Whithorn, Wigtownshire, won a bronze medal for Scotland at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in the men’s welterweight division, having knocked out Jamaican boxer Daniel Hylton after only 11 seconds, which is officially the fastest knockout in Commonwealth Games history; hopes that his success will inspire other members at the local amateur boxing club, Bravehearts, which trains at the new gym in the recently-refurbished community hub in Whithorn, and wishes Tyler every success as he looks to establish his professional boxing career and join a list of great Scottish champions.
