Kinghorn Rabbit Rescue Centre Saves over 100 Abandoned Rabbits after Lockdown
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Mel’s VIPS Rabbit Rescue in Kinghorn, Fife, onsaving over 100 rabbits following a lockdown boom in buying pets; notes that,in total, the rescue centre saved 76 rabbits in 2022, including 16 from oneproperty alone, and, so far in 2023, it has taken in over 20 and successfullyrehomed eight; understands that rabbit rescue centres across the UK arestruggling to cope with the number of unwanted and abandoned animals, withrabbits being the third most popular pet in the UK; commends Mel Thomson, whoruns the rescue centre, for her dedication to saving abandoned rabbits andeventually rehoming them, and wishes Mel and the centre all the best for thefuture.
