Bold Girls Ken Project

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the Bold Girls Ken project, which is led by a group of nine young women aged between 16 and 19, representing a combination of Bertha Park High School, Crieff High School and UHI Perth, and delivered as part of the Young Women Know project by NSPCC Scotland and the Young Women’s Movement, in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council; understands that the project aims to tackle peer sexual abuse as part of a drive to educate young people about consent in sexual relationships both on and offline and to ensure that they get realistic and appropriate information about the issue and know where to go for help and support if they need it; further understands that the young women involved will launch a consent toolkit, which they helped to produce for schools, parents, carers and people within the wider community, at an event to be held at Perth Art Gallery on 19 April 2023; commends the Bold Girls Ken campaign for its attempt to increase and improve the conversations about consent; believes that every young woman deserves to feel safe and comfortable on and offline, and wishes the campaign and all involved in its promotion every success for the future.
