The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Crieff care homes, Richmond House and The Birches, on their receipt of Tony Barker Awards; notes that the Tony Barker Award was created by the Perth-based creative wellbeing project, Generating Opportunity CIC, to celebrate outstanding community contribution by care settings across the region, and is named in honour of the late Generating Opportunity CIC director, Tony Barker; understands that Richmond House has been awarded for its lovely ideas to bring residents and the community closer together, including inter-generational work with St Dominic’s RC Primary School, community health walks, and acts of kindness such as gifting hand-painted coasters and tea bags, and donating more than 500 chat and treat food boxes to local residents during the COVID-19 pandemic; further understands that The Birches has been praised for creative projects undertaken with residents, including the collection of more than 1,000 milk bottle tops saved from landfill and transformed into a zero waste dress; commends all involved for what it sees as their incredible community outreach work, and wishes Richmond House and The Birches continued success in all their future projects.
