The motion

That the Parliament welcomes that £20 million of UK Government funding received by two Scottish energy storage companies, which, it believes, will boost the UK’s renewable energy security; understands that Invinity Energy, based in Bathgate, West Lothian, will receive £11 million of UK Government funding to develop and manufacture its 7-MW/30-MWh four-hour vanadium flow battery, which is the largest grid-scale battery ever manufactured in the UK, and considers that this funding will help to supercharge the businesses and contribute towards wider efforts to power more of Britain from Britain, and boost the country’s energy security.
