Kirkcaldy Teen Responds to Cardiac Arrest After Being Alerted by GoodSam App
The motion
That the Parliament praises the Kirkcaldy teenager, Arron Reekie, on his quick response to assist paramedic and ambulance crews to save someone experiencing cardiac arrest; understands that Arron was preparing to go out with friends when he received an alert on his smartphone from the GoodSam app asking for his assistance; notes that Arron was first on the scene and remained to assist with the patient's treatment, allowing the paramedic crew to focus their energy on other lifesaving techniques; understands that the GoodSam app sends alerts to those nearby signed up to the service and allows them to respond to the call and attend to the person in need, and commends Arron for his speedy response and determination to help save the life of someone experiencing cardiac arrest.
