The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Colin and Ruaridh Paton of Kilmarnock on their successful completion of the 96-mile West Highland Way challenge to raise money for Crosshouse Community Football Club; understands that Crosshouse Community FC is a Scottish Junior FA-affiliated grassroots football club, which promotes opportunities for junior grassroots football in the west of Scotland and competes in the West of Scotland Youth Football League with a range of youth teams; further understands that the club is run by volunteers and that the funds are intended to be used for training equipment, strips and more; notes that Colin and Ruaridh have surpassed their fundraising goal by almost double by raising over £700; believes that sports participation from a young age can develop positive habits that improve health outcomes later in life; considers the value of local sports in bringing communities together; commends Colin and Ruaridh for their contribution to their local community, and wishes them, as well as Crosshouse Community FC, all the best in the future.
