The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges that the Grand Final of the 67th Eurovision Song Contest will take place on 13 May 2023 in Liverpool; notes that the United Kingdom will host the contest on behalf of Ukraine, which won the 2022 contest with the song, Stefania, performed by the Kalush Orchestra; understands that this is due to security concerns relating to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing conflict; notes that the theme for this year's contest is "United by Music", and that it will be produced by the BBC and the Ukrainian public broadcaster, UA:PBC, and attract an estimated audience of 180 million viewers worldwide; sends its best wishes to the host city, Liverpool, and the UK entry, Mae Muller, and offers its solidarity and support to the government and people of Ukraine as they host the contest here in the United Kingdom while fighting at home to defend their country and culture from unprovoked aggression.
