Clackmannanshire Children Raise Over £2,000 for Marie Curie

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates a group of Clackmannanshire children who have helped to raise in excess of £2,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Research; understands that 13 children from Christine’s Childminding Service, in Alloa, recently took part in a sponsored walk up Dumyat for the charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal; understands that, for the appeal’s “Go Yellow” theme, the group of youngsters, of up to four years of age, wore yellow high visibility vests and carried yellow balloons; acknowledges that the adults accompanying the children were also joined by a Marie Curie nurse; understands that, in addition to their regular weekly themes of visiting toddler community groups, safari parks, soft play and play parks, this sponsored walk was seen by the organisers as doing something different for the children, as they enjoy the outdoors so much; commends the children, the organisers and everyone who took part in what it sees as a superb initiative, including all those who donated towards this fantastic sum, and congratulates all at Marie Curie on what it sees as their tireless endeavours to help everyone affected by cancer.
