Rattray Pod Design Wins $100,000 in Competition
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Maddie Thomson, of Rattray, Blairgowrie, who has won $100,000 in a worldwide competition to turn a unique rental design concept into reality; notes that Maddie is one of 100 winners of the Airbnb's OMG! Fund competition, which sought out bold ideas for new rental spaces; understands that she beat tens of thousands of entries, from over 20 countries, with her design; notes that she is the only winner of the competition in Scotland, and one of just nine in the UK; recognises that each winner was granted $100,000 to build their design, which will be added to the Airbnb platform, with Maddie’s pod, based on her family’s farm in Rattray, due to open in August 2023, and wishes Maddie and her business all the best for the future.
