The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Kirkcaldy-based additional needs charity, Nourish, after it celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of its Community Hub in the town’s Mercat Shopping Centre; applauds the charity for its dedication to supporting families with additional needs in Fife by providing what it sees as much-needed and life-changing support; recognises that Nourish was established in 2011 by five parents who wanted to address the significant gaps in support available for families with additional needs, and to provide a service that understands the daily challenges that such families face; understands that Nourish is the only organisation in Fife providing holistic support to families with additional support needs, and that it works alongside other relevant organisations to raise awareness, reach out to new families and provide better services; understands that many of the charity’s trustees, staff, and volunteers are parents or carers of children with a disability, or have a disability themselves; commends Nourish for its work in helping families experiencing poverty, by supplying hundreds of emergency food parcels every month; pays tribute to all of the charity’s staff and volunteers, who, it understands, were recently honoured at an award ceremony to thank them for their selfless work, and wishes Nourish all the best for the future.
