Benarty Community Shop Shortlisted for Socially Enterprising Award 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the volunteers at Benarty Community Shop on being shortlisted for the 2023 Volunteering and Voluntary Sector Awards, organised by Fife Voluntary Action; recognises that the community shop has been shortlisted for the Socially Enterprising award; understands that the award is for those organisations that have demonstrated growth through income generation, leading to a more sustainable and healthy community presence; believes that, since re-opening in a new premises, the community shop has helped to foster greater community cohesion, bringing the community together through its new community café; notes that the awards ceremony will be held at the Glen Pavilion in Dunfermline later in 2023; recognises the hard work and dedication of all the volunteers, and wishes them all the very best in the lead up to the awards ceremony.
