Global MND Awareness Day 2023

The motion

That the Parliament understands that Global Motor Neuron Disease (MND) Awareness Day 2023 will take place on 21 June 2023, and is being coordinated by the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations; recognises that charities make important contributions in communities across the country, by spreading awareness and funding research projects; believes that the survival and success of such projects is dependent on the hard work of those who commit their time to help others in need; further believes that volunteers deserve recognition, respect and appreciation for their work, and pays tribute to the late Doddie Weir, who, it believes, made such a positive contribution to MND research through the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
