University of Glasgow Ranked 13th in the World in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the University of Glasgow on being ranked 13th in the world in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023; notes that the THE Impact Rankings are a measure of the contribution of over 1,700 universities to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and that the university has been ranked as first in Scotland and second in the UK; recognises that the most notable results for the University of Glasgow include it coming second in the world for SDG11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), sixth in the world for SDG16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) and ninth in the world for mandatory SDG17 (Partnership for the Goals); notes that, with over 1,700 universities ranked in 2023, this is an increase of 181 on 2022, and congratulates all staff and students at the University of Glasgow on improving their ranking from 19th in 2022 to 13th in 2023.
