The motion

That the Parliament congratulates PLUS Forth Valley Ltd, in Stirling, on being awarded £200,000 from the National Lottery Medium Grants Scotland: Improving Lives fund; considers that, since it was founded in 1988, PLUS has worked across Forth Valley to improve the lives of children and young adults with disabilities, and their families; acknowledges that, through its trustees, staff and volunteers, PLUS aims to work alongside the young people that it supports, as well as their families, joining them in their journeys from diagnosis, throughout education and into early adult life; believes that the group will use the funding to continue to provide a range of support to families across the Forth Valley who have a child living with additional needs, ranging from autism to profound mental and physical disabilities; notes that a Family Support Coordinator will provide practical and emotional support and a 1-1 Support Project Coordinator will assist young people in accessing supported recreational activities, and is enthused that this project will reportedly benefit 600 people, with 24 volunteers providing assistance over three years.
