Alloa Academy Pupils and School Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Alloa Academy pupils who were recognised at the school’s annual Senior Celebrating Success Evening on 15 June 2023; understands that the school hosted the event, formerly known as the school’s Senior Awards Ceremony, to commend students who have performed exceptionally well in their subjects; believes that subject awards were presented to up to four or five pupils per subject, across the years of S4 to S6, whilst a series of wider achievement awards were handed out to a number of pupils in each year; notes that special awards were also presented, with Mariam Akhtar receiving the Dux Medal 2023 for the highest academic achievements for the year, and Casey McCandish winning the Proxime Accessit, as runner-up; further notes that Kate Gibson was awarded the Sagar Award for Music, with Charlie Gray receiving the Beveridge Quaich for Music; notes that Nicole Dalrymple and Keevan Brown both received the Community Empowerment Award; commends the recipients on their outstanding successes; further commends Alloa Academy for its focus on achievement, and also on its receipt of the Social Enterprise Champion Schools Award at the Social Enterprise Award Ceremony on the same day, and acknowledges that this award recognised the school's Community Coffee Hub that raised money to support Clackmannanshire Women's Aid.
