NHS Fife's Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service Receives Children's Nursing and Midwifery Award
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Fife’s Children and Young People's Community Nursing Service on receiving the prestigious Children's Nursing and Midwifery Award at the 2023 Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards; understands that the team was recognised for the incredible support and care it provides to families, whose children are diagnosed with complex and severe health conditions; notes that the team also provides palliative support for patients who are unable to access the specialist services of an urban setting; recognises that the service's recent innovations include setting up a multi-disciplinary team to support enteral feeding at home with a one-stop clinic, and developing a "near me" virtual clinic during the COVID-19 pandemic to support vulnerable patients who could not attend appointments; is grateful for the hard work, dedication and contributions of those working in the service and for providing vital care and support to patients and families, and extends its very best wishes to them all for continued success in the future.
