The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Hugh Nibloe, from Stranraer, on being named in the 10-strong Paralympic squad by British Curling ahead of the build-up towards the Milan Cortina Paralympic Winter Games in 2026; recognises that Hugh skipped Scotland to bronze at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship 2023, held in Richmond, Canada, in March, alongside teammates Gregor Ewan, Gary Logan, Jo Butterfield and Meggan Dawson-Farrell, who have also been selected in the latest squad; notes that there is growing competition for places, which has been welcomed by Hugh, who has represented Great Britain at the Paralympic Games on several occasions, winning a bronze medal in 2017 and a silver medal in 2019, and wishes the curlers every success as they strive towards the next Winter Paralympics.
