Winners of 2023 Scottish Walking Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Joshua Adeyemi on winning the Media/Online Walking Champion Award and Overall Champion at the 2023 national Scottish Walking Awards, which is run by Paths for All, Ramblers Scotland and Living Streets Scotland; understands that the awards attracted many high-quality entries; highlights Joshua’s work as a co-founder of the popular Black Scottish Adventurers, which now has hundreds of members and thousands of social media followers; congratulates the winners across all of the award categories, including Community Walking Champion, Kath Millar, who has helped run hundreds of health walks in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, and congratulates NHS Grampian, Friends of Monklands Canal Group, Go Jauntly, Walkhighlands, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Queen Margaret University, and RSPB Scotland’s Loch Lomond nature reserve, which were all worthy winners of the individual categories, and believes that all of this year’s worthy award winners will inspire people from all backgrounds to walk for years to come.
