Flight Lieutenant James Martin - 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron RAF Reserves

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Flight Lieutenant James Martin on receiving an Air Officer Commanding No.2 Group Commendation in His Majesty The King’s Birthday Honours List 2023 – RAF; acknowledges Flt Lt Martin’s role in securing a new Squadron Standard, which was the final RAF Standard to have been endorsed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and led to a Standard Consecration Parade held at the High School of Glasgow in August 2022; commends the Executive Officer of 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron on what it sees as his steadfast and inspirational leadership, insightful mentoring of both Regular and Reserves personnel, while embracing the UK Government’s Reserve Forces Review 2030 and playing his ongoing part in guiding the Squadron through Project Astra, which is the name that has been given to the Royal Air Force's current journey in building the Next Generation RAF, and further commends 602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron RAF Reserves as whole, for what it believes is its first class multi-disciplinary training in myriad trades, of new recruits and qualified personnel alike, in order that they are able to fully integrate into the Regular Force, as and when requirements arise.
