The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Inverness nurse, Amy Noble, on being named as the Royal College of Nursing Scotland’s Nurse of the Year, in recognition of her clinical leadership, commitment to delivering for her patients and efforts to inspire the future nursing workforce; notes that Amy has been recently promoted to Assistant Divisional Nurse Manager; further notes that at the time of her nomination for the award, Amy led the respiratory ward at Raigmore Hospital and, in partnership with Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, was responsible for the department’s transformation, which, it understands, led to readmissions dropping from 20% to 8%; recognises that in her new position, Amy is working on progressing an infectious disease specialist team, and understands that she is looking to work hard in encouraging more people to return to nursing; acknowledges that the awards ceremony was held at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh, and, as well as the Nurse of the Year Award, included a further 12 award categories, and wishes Amy the best of success in her new role with NHS Highland.
