Shirley Henderson to be Honoured by Fife College

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Shirley Henderson as she is set to be honoured by Fife College; understands that, in 1982, at the age of 16, Shirley left school to study a one-year foundation drama course at Fife College’s Kirkcaldy campus, before moving to London where she continued to pursue her passion at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 1986; notes that she will be joining fellow alumni, including actor, Dougray Scott, presenter, Edith Bowman, and Paralympic gold medallist, Owen Mille; acknowledges that she has starred in shows such as Dr Who, Death in Paradise and Happy Valley, as well as several films, including Trainspotting, Bridget Jones’s Diary, and the Harry Potter series, where she appeared as the iconic character, Moaning Myrtle, and wishes Shirley all the best for her honour and for the future.
