Stonehaven’s 18th Century Clock Tower Reopens
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Stonehaven’s 18th century clock tower has re-opened to visitors for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic after a revamp; understands that the B-listed tower is one of the town's most prominent landmarks, sits on The Cross, and dates back to 1790; notes that the clock tower was damaged during Storm Arwen, when a top floor window was blown out by high winds; understands that the new work carried out has included the replacement of the electrics system, the installations of a new CCTV unit and footfall counter and a special servicing of the clock; commends the Tolbooth Museum, which has committed to open the building to the public at the same time as the museum, and encourages those in the areas to visit the historic clock tower.
