The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges the ongoing achievements of the Tullibody Community Garden; understands that the charity, Tullibody Healthy Living, responded to community requests, so effectively, and transformed, what was no more than a grass field, into a working, productive garden, which, it believes, engages many local people; further understands that the community garden is cultivated by a group of volunteers, who gain valuable horticultural skills as well as producing fruit and vegetables for sale at a realistic price, which encourages local people to buy it and create fresh, healthy dishes; considers that, in addition to gardening, the volunteers run many events, including cooking and "grow your own" workshops, and they also carry out forward-planning as to what the community garden will be involved with during each season, as well as encourage local residents to attend these workshops, and hold regular gardening activities for schools and nurseries: considers that year-on-year funding is a constant issue for the charity and volunteers, as this often means that there is a continuous need for administration and funding applications, in addition to the requirement for regular reporting and keeping on top of recruiting volunteers, whilst supporting its existing team; believes that there is an essential requirement to ensure that funding can be maintained into the future for the health and wellbeing of the community, and commends everyone involved on their tireless work in this regard, for the sustainability of what it sees as such a wonderful and hugely successful local initiative.
