Celebrating Perth's Freedom of the City Awards

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes what it sees as the commendable decision to confer upon Eve Muirhead and the rest of the Great Britain Olympic gold medal curling team, Lucinda Russell and Peter Scudamore, the Freedom of the city of Perth; celebrates the great honour bestowed on these exceptional individuals, recognising the inspiration that they provide to future generations of sportspeople, and expresses its belief that such recognition is not only extremely deserved, but also serves to highlight the city of Perth's commitment to celebrating its local heroes and their outstanding contributions to sport and the community.
