Indian Diaspora Celebrate National Day

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the efforts of Glasgow Indians, a small community group that, when it was founded, represented no more than a few dozen members, but which now has thousands of people attending its events; notes that the group contributed to the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of India celebrations, which took place in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow, with attendees from all around Scotland and many diverse communities taking part; understands that adults and children performed intricate cultural songs and dances at the event, and wishes the organisers every success for the future.
