Seven-year-old Kingsley Lamond Raises Money for Poppy Scotland by Conquering Ben Nevis

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates seven-year-old schoolgirl, Kingsley Lamond, from Toronto Primary in Ladywell, who conquered Ben Nevis for charity on 9 August 2023; understands that she raised £1,800 for Poppy Scotland by climbing the mountain in nine hours and 50 minutes; recognises that she started training for this event on Dechmont Hill in 2022 and also climbed Tinto in preparation; commends her for raising these monies in honour of her Armed Forces family, who have served in the marines and navy, and believes that these monies will help to support those important people who serve or who have served their country.
