The motion

That the Parliament commends a Clackmannanshire Rotarian, and friends, who have recently completed a gruelling cycling fundraiser throughout Speyside for charity; understands that Scott Doyle, from the Rotary Club of Alloa, was joined by Jason Frew and Stuart Hall, as they spent the month of August 2023 cycling through tough terrain in the Scottish highlands and returned having raised over £1,000 for MacMillan Cancer Support and the Rotary End Polio Now campaign; believes that the chosen route was more difficult than the group originally expected, with gruelling terrain, some of which became unsuitable for the riding of cycles, and, for this, they express their gratitude towards the staff of the Tulchan Estate; commends Scott, Jason and Stuart on their tenacity and abilities, which, it understands, enabled them to remain safe and to complete their challenge, which they were said to have welcomed; acknowledges that Scott is already preparing for his next challenge, which will take the form of the Wee County’s well-established and popular, Tour de Clacks, which is to be held on 17 September 2023 where the Rotarian will cycle the route around Clackmannanshire to raise money for prostate cancer, and congratulates Scott, and the group, on this accomplishment and what it sees as their selfless fundraising efforts.
