Perthshire Firefighter Retires after Almost 40 Years of Service

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates firefighter Charles "Chic" Scrimgeour, of Blairgowrie, Perthshire, who has retired after 38 years and 14 days of service; notes that Mr Scrimgeour, who is 56, joined the fire service in 1985, aged 18, and served on call for nearly four decades; further notes that, to mark his retirement, colleagues presented Mr Scrimgeour with gifts, a commemorative helmet and a certificate, and that they also created a guard of honour that saw him being piped out of Blairgowrie Fire Station for the last time, and wishes Mr Scrimgeour and Blairgowrie Fire Station all the best for the future.
