Open University in Scotland and National Trust for Scotland Partnership

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the Open University (OU) in Scotland and the National Trust for Scotland have signed a joint memorandum of understanding; welcomes the partnership working between what it sees as two of the country’s leading institutions to achieve their common aims; understands that a successful series of staff development roadshows have already taken place to promote the OU’s support of the Trust’s staff development programme to promote lifelong learning in the workplace; further understands that the OU will also help the Trust to support the development of its volunteers, through access to free learning and employability resources; notes that the OU and the Trust will work together to organise events that bring together professionals from both organisations, providing opportunities for networking and knowledge sharing and contributing to the Scottish Government's objective of fostering collaboration and partnership working, and wishes both organisations every success with their partnership.
