The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Simon White, of WhiteSky Photographics, on winning the Press and Journal Photographer of the Year Award; recognises that Simon’s excellent photo of the aurora borealis was taken of a solar storm over Tarland, Aberdeenshire, using long exposure photography; notes that Simon White won the competition by popular vote, supported by his local community; understands that Simon’s interest in the arts also extends to the company, White Stag Barrels, which he co-owns with his wife, Jen; further understands that their company refurbishes whisky and wine barrels into new pieces such as outdoor patio furniture, dog beds and wall art, and wishes him all the best in his future artistic pursuits.
