Caledonian Railway Volunteers to Restore Arbroath Road Train to Benefit the Local Community

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Caledonian Railway volunteers on their success with a community asset transfer bid for the vintage Arbroath tourist road train, which was offered to community groups; understands that the Caledonian Railway volunteers have been building knowledge of restoring locomotives and carriages on the award-winning railway for more than 40 years; further understands that the Arbroath land train entertained tens of thousands of visitors for a generation; notes that the train will be running again in the near future; believes that this will bring benefits to the local tourist economy; notes that the road train will be used to link local attractions to the railway, and wishes the volunteers every success with their restoration efforts.
