World Polio Day 2023

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that 24 October 2023 will mark World Polio Day; understands that, although polio is almost eradicated, there are thousands of aging people in Scotland still living with the after effects of polio caught before the vaccine was available; celebrates the work of Rotary in saving many children from a life of disability from polio by their world vaccination efforts; considers that there are thousands of people in Scotland still living with the after effects of polio caught before the vaccine was available; commends what it sees as the contributions that people with post-polio syndrome have made to society, and assures them that they are valued members of society.
