Renamed Scottish Autism Day Service Relocates to Alloa

The motion

That the Parliament acknowledges that a former Clackmannan day service for people living with autism has been relocated to Alloa; understands that the service, which was previously known as Chrysalis, has been renamed as Inspire, and has set up shop in Cooperage Way, Alloa; believes that the Scottish Autism-managed service provides autistic adults with a space to focus on sensory exploration and the expressive arts; understands that the charity has recognised the views expressed by supported individuals and service users who have previously spoken of the value of the service and how much it means to them; further understands that, by moving to these new premises, Scottish Autism has the potential to widen the range of opportunities offered by the service, as well as ensuring that it is as accessible as possible; believes that the charity felt that the relocation of the service would be best accompanied by a new name to give the service its own identity, and, after a vote, the name Inspire was chosen to acknowledge that the work done by the service to date has inspired the individuals who attend, and that the charity aims to continue to do this; welcomes the news that the move was granted to allow Scottish Autism to provide more practical and accessible spaces for autistic adults in a central location within Clackmannanshire, and commends the charity, as well as the many service users, on what it sees as this truly excellent work.
