Young Musician, Ethan David Loch, Delights Gatehouse Music Society

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Gatehouse Music Society on successfully staging a special concert at Gatehouse Parish Church featuring the exceptionally talented, young blind musician, Ethan David Loch, who, it understands, has developed strategies to play the piano musically, confidently and with unfailing accuracy; acknowledges that his programme featured music by Chopin, Ravel and Debussy, much to the delight of the packed audience; notes that his musical talents helped him win the keyboard category in the BBC Young Musician 2022 competition; welcomes the work of the Gatehouse Music Society in making music accessible for all, and, in particular, its Be Inspired Initiative for young people; praises the entertainment experiences being offered regularly by other musical societies across Scotland and what it considers the undoubted pleasure that they are bringing to a great many people, often in a local environment, and wishes them all continued success in the coming months and years ahead.
