That the Parliament is delighted at the news that the new UK Government-funded exascale supercomputer will be situated in Edinburgh; understands that the exascale system is the next frontier in computing power; further understands that it will accelerate work on some of the most pressing issues, such as life-saving drugs, nuclear fusion and low carbon energy; recognises that the project will reportedly bring hundreds of new jobs to Lothian and Scotland, and looks forward to Scotland and the UK being at the forefront of innovative research for years to come.
