Islamophobia Awareness Month 2023, #MuslimStories

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Islamophobia Awareness Month 2023; applauds the efforts of all those who have supported Islamophobia Awareness Month over the last 11 years; understands that the theme for Islamophobia Awareness Month 2023 is "Muslim Stories", with the focus being on facilitating connections between people of diverse backgrounds, including those of the Islamic faith and non-Muslims; considers that each of these individuals has a story to tell and has different life experiences, and that learning from these experiences is key to tackling Islamophobia in the workplace; appreciates the support of police forces, local government, and charitable organisations over the course of Islamophobia Awareness Month in the past, and thanks all those who are working towards the elimination of Islamophobia in Scotland and across the whole UK.
