Stan Green Awarded Pearson Memorial Medal 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Stan Green, director of Growforth Ltd, on being awarded the Pearson Memorial Medal 2023; understands that Stan was recognised due to the exceptional work that he has done to promote horticulture, working tirelessly in Scotland and throughout the UK, including his role in helping to successfully launch the Horticultural Trade Association's (HTA) Scottish Environmental Horticulture Strategy earlier in 2023; notes that Stan is the current chairman of the HTA Scotland policy development group and former president of the HTA; understands that Stan established Growforth Ltd in Fife in 1990, which now serves the horticulture trade throughout Scotland and the north of England; further understands that this prestigious award is for outstanding service to the garden industry, having been awarded by the HTA on an annual basis since it was instigated in 1930, in memory of the HTA's first General Secretary, Charles Perason; commends the hard work and dedication of Stan, and wishes him all the very best for the future.
