Marking the 554th Siri Guru Nanak Gurpurab

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that 27 November 2023 marks the 554th Gurpurab (Birth Anniversary) of Siri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who was the founder of Sikhism and the first Sikh Guru; understands that this auspicious moment commemorates one of the most significant occasions for followers of the Sikh faith, and is marked every year on the full moon day of the month of Kartik Purnima, and wishes a happy and prosperous celebration to everyone in Scotland, across the UK and around the world, who is celebrating Gurpurab.
