Celebrating Persie Distillery’s Achievement at the Scottish Gin Awards 2023

The motion

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the remarkable achievement by Persie Distillery, led by Simon and Chrissie Fairclough, on winning the Excellence in Branding award at the prestigious Scottish Gin Awards; notes that the Scottish Gin Awards is one of the largest and most respected competitions of its kind in the UK, offering a unique platform to showcase the excellence and diversity of Scottish gin; commends what it sees as the rigorous selection process of the awards, which involved a blind tasting of nearly 200 gins, all distilled in Scotland, thereby ensuring a fair and unbiased evaluation of the entrants; celebrates the dedication, innovation, and commitment to quality demonstrated by Persie Distillery in crafting its gins, which, it believes, has significantly contributed to the growth and reputation of the Scottish gin industry both domestically and internationally, and believes that such awards play an important role in promoting Scotland’s rich heritage in distilling, enhancing the country’s standing in the global spirits market, and contributing to its economy and cultural identity.
