Congratulation Riverside Primary School

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Riverside Primary School, Perth, on winning the prestigious award for Innovation in Delivering a Sustainable Learning Place at the Learning Places Scotland awards ceremony, which was held in Glasgow on 14 November 2023; understands that Riverside Primary School is among the first in Scotland built to Passivhaus standards, exemplifying exceptional quality in construction and energy efficiency, with final certification pending; notes that this innovative two-storey school, which replaced North Muirton and Balhousie Primary Schools, can accommodate 500 pupils and includes a nursery and additional support needs provision, and believes that Riverside Primary School stands as a pioneering example in Scotland for its commitment to net zero goals and high-quality facilities that it considers contribute positively to pupil attainment and is economical to run, setting a benchmark for future educational buildings in Scotland.
