Treats for Troops Donations Raised by Clydebank Healthcare Workers

The motion

That the Parliament applauds the efforts of Jean McGuire and Donna O’Donnell, of Clydebank, who have worked tirelessly in collecting donations for Treats for Troops, an organisation that supports the sending of Morale Boxes to troops who are stationed around the world; understands that the duo have sent over 8,000 boxes since 2017 and that they will endeavour to send around 200 boxes this festive season; further understands that the boxes are sent for Valentine's day, Easter and Christmas; appreciates the efforts that go into collecting items such as seasonal items, including food, selection boxes, confectionary, socks, cards, toiletries and large sharing boxes for platoons; believes that these morale boxes have a lasting impact and provide a welcome boost to serving troops, and wishes the team every success in continuing this support for serving troops.
