Small Business Saturday UK 2023

The motion

That the Parliament marks Small Business Saturday UK on 2 December 2023; acknowledges that the campaign is grassroots and non-commercial, highlighting small business success and enticing consumers to support local businesses in their communities; considers that small businesses, particularly those facing challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic and rising costs, require support now more than ever; believes that even though the day only occurs once per year, the campaign has a lasting effect on small businesses; understands that, over the years, millions of people have been engaged by this campaign and that billions of pounds have been spent with small businesses; recognises that many small businesses participate in this day by holding events and offering discounts, and welcomes all small businesses and customers who choose to participate in this day.
