The motion

That the Parliament pays tribute to Isobel Harling BEM, who peacefully passed away recently, aged 100; acknowledges Isobel's position as the key figure who tended the graves of the nine Second World War Force K6 Muslims for 70 years; understands that these soldiers were from the Pakistan side of undivided India, and are now buried in Kingussie cemetery; recognises what it sees as Isobel's tremendous efforts in raising funds for war memorials in her home town area of Strathspey and Badenoch, and volunteering for the Royal British Legion; understands that her dedication and compassion arose from seeing her own brother’s grave being cared for in Leuven, Belgium, where he was shot down in the Second World War; believes that Isobel was a warm and caring individual who believed in service above all; notes that Isobel was awarded the British Empire Medal (BEM) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 2019; believes that Isobel will be sadly missed by all that knew her, and sends its sympathies to her family at this sad time.
