Falkirk Distillery Celebrates Release of Single Malt Whisky
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates George and Fiona Stewart, co-founders of Falkirk Distillery, located between Grangemouth and Polmont, on the release of a 640-bottle limited edition single malt Scotch whisky; understands that George embarked upon this dream over a decade ago and that, with time, patience and the help of his daughter Fiona, the inaugural release of 100 bottles went to auction on 21 December 2023; notes that the remaining bottles will be released for sale to the public in January 2024; understands that the unpeated malt, which was aged for three years and one day, has now delivered the first bottles of whisky distilled in Falkirk for over 30 years; congratulates George and Fiona on their accomplishment, and wishes them the best of luck with all future distillations.
