The motion

That the Parliament praises Peter and June Bowyer, from Largs, for saving the life of a motorist on the A760 near Lochwinnoch; notes that June and Peter were travelling by car to buy a Christmas tree when they noticed a car driving erratically before coming to a halt; understands that, alongside other motorists, they immediately stopped and helped the driver out of the vehicle; is aware that June was able to use her coastguard training to help resuscitate the man at the side of the road, while former fire chief, Peter, was on the phone to emergency services; further understands that the man started breathing again due to their lifesaving intervention and that the fire engine arrived with a defibrillator before an ambulance arrived on scene; believes that this shows the vital importance of both CPR training and defibrillator availability in emergencies such as this, and wishes Peter and June, the stricken driver of the car, and everyone involved in this emergency the very best.
