Success for Stonehaven Fireballs Festival 2024

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the volunteers and committee of the Stonehaven Fireballs New Year 2024 ceremony, for carrying out another successful and safe New Year celebration; understands that the event is one of the oldest New Year traditions in the world, with the Stonehaven festival thought to date back to at least the 19th century; appreciates the effort by all involved in staging the unique fireball event, with the pre-event entertainment provided along Stonehaven High Street by Newtonhill Pipe Band and the Lindsay School of Dancing; recognises the tireless effort that goes into organising the fireball ceremony all year round, and wishes the Fireball ceremony committee, fireballers and marshals many successful New Years to come.
