Alva Academy Students' Youth and Philanthropy Initiative Win for Women's Aid

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that a team of young students at Alva Academy has been successful in securing a huge funding grant for its chosen charity; understands that the group of three girls took part in the final of the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) at Alva, winning the competition and earning £3,000 in funding for Women’s Aid; believes that the final of the competition, which took place on 15 December 2023, saw pupils Mally McPherson, Abi Henderson and Amelia Castle-Izatt securing the cheque for their charity; notes that the girls have been recognised as Alva Academy’s school ambassadors for Women's Aid, highlighting the importance of the charity to them all; considers that Women’s Aid Clackmannanshire aims to help as many women and children as it can to escape situations of domestic abuse or violence, and commends the pupils, Alva Academy and Women’s Aid Clackmannanshire on all of their excellent endeavours.
