Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Producers Feature at Taste of Scotland Event
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes that a number of food and drink producers from across the Highlands and Islands region featured their produce at the UK Government’s annual Taste of Scotland event in London; understands that a range of different producers were represented at the event, including Charles Macleod Black Pudding from Stornoway, Isle of Barra Distillers, Taste of Shetland, Stockan’s Oatcakes from Orkney, Highland Fine Cheeses from Tain, and Isle of Harris Distillery; further understands that Harris Tweed was also present at the event; notes that the most recent figures show that Scotland’s international exports were over £31 billion and that the UK Government’s "Made in the UK, Sold to the World" programme aims to increase global demand for Scottish products, and wishes all food and drink producers across Scotland well for a successful 2024.
